Be Happily Ever After - musings, tips, and perspectives on creating a low-budget, classy and unique wedding

Soon after getting into the knitty gritty of planning for my October 2009 wedding, I began to roll around the idea of starting a blog with ideas to help other like-minded brides-to-be. My fiance and I had a modest budget of around four thousand dollars. This was made a little more feasible because our desire to have an intimate wedding with close friends and family, coupled by his family and friends living across the globe, allowed us to have a small-ish guest list of 56 people. (And yes, it started at fifty, which will lead to some advice down the line!)

My goal in creating this blog is to share hints and strategies that I found useful in maintaining our budget, while still ending up with a wedding and reception that have received so many nice compliments that my husband and I treasure.

My other (also new!) blog, http://immigration-station.blogspot.com/, is a forum to discuss the fiance immigration process and help other couples going through that situation in any way possible. So, if you know someone that would be interested, please pass the address along! Coming from someone who has successfully completed the paperwork, dealt with interview stress, numerous episodes of "backtracking" and everything else that comes along with the process, it would have been nice to have a clear-cut, friendly place to ask questions.

For now, happy planning and best wishes :)
